What if I do not have enough miles?
Enrich allows miles + cash redemption. Unlike most airlines that require you to have a significant proportion of miles needed for the redemption in order to utilise the miles + cash option, you can redeem with Enrich with as little as 1,000 miles by topping up the difference with cash. It works out that a one-way business redemption from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur costs AUD888 + 1,000 miles. Considering a revenue ticket typically costs more bewteen AUD 1,600 – AUD2,500, this deal is pretty amazing.
The deal is about to expire, but I do not have an account….
No worries. As I have 2,000 miles in my Enrich account that are idle and otherwise going to expire, it means I can potentially redeem 2 business tickets + cash supplementation. If you are keen to take advantage of this offer, give me a buzz and you can have my miles.
Malaysia Airlines A330 Business Class
All of the Australian flights operated by A330 feature the newly-refurbished cabin with 78-inch fully flat-beds. This is a massive improvement compared to their previous inferior angled seat product. I have yet to sample the new A330 product, so I’m keen to hear from your experience if you are taking advantage of this deal.
Background: Enrich Program
Enrich is the frequent flyer program of Malaysia Airlines. It used to be one of my favourite thanks to its great award availability and superb redemption rate for flights to Europe from Australia; it used to be only 51,000 miles for one-way business class redemption. For your reference, competitors like KrisFlyer and Qantas FF cost ~80k and 125k miles respectively for comparable redemption. Despite falling customer confidence and loyalty support following Malaysia Airlines’ twin tragedy, the Enrich program underwent significant devaluation not long ago (which seemed to be an odd decision). I’ve since abandoned my Enrich account; not to mention MH also culled its operation to many European destinations.
Could this deal be the answer to the missing link for your Oman Air Business Class to Europe? As I have mentioned, you’re more than welcome to my remaining 2,000 Enrich miles.
